Dream Dollhouse
Product Design || Technical Design || Illustration
As a Design Intern at RMS International, I contributed significantly to the development of a customizable dollhouse kit. My responsibilities included 3D product design & structural engineering, creating original hand-drawn illustrations, and designing clear, engaging instructions to ensure an intuitive and enjoyable building experience.
3D Product Design & Engineering
I drew on my background in miniature architectural design to develop the structural components and furniture pieces for the product. Each element was engineered to slot together securely without the use of adhesives, requiring careful consideration of slot placement, material thickness, and overall structural integrity.

I began by sketching concepts and refining measurements by hand, then translated those plans into precise, production-ready templates using Adobe Illustrator. I regularly fabricated and tested prototypes to ensure all components fit together accurately and functioned as intended.

Instruction Booklet
I created all technical diagrams for the instruction booklet in Adobe Illustrator, and collaborated with team member to design the final layout and publication. Starting with flat outlines of each component, I established a clear and consistent visual hierarchy—first showing how the product appears to the consumer for easy identification, then guiding them step-by-step through the key stages of assembly.

Illustration & Production
Because the dollhouse was designed to be fully customizable—with children encouraged to color and decorate it themselves—I made intentional visual choices to support creativity and open-ended play. As I finalized illustrations, I determined how the elements would be laid out on each product sheet for easy identification by the consumer, and finalized the production files.
