The Makery || Art & Tech || Rising 4th-8th Grade

The goal of Summer Makers was to create excitement and energy around making. We provided young makers a mix of technical and creative skills that fostered confidence in their ability to bring ideas and designs to life.​ Summer Maker students explored the rich world of a STEAM-based, Art-Tech maker environment, including learning about design software and principles, laser cutting, woodworking, CNC milling, finishing techniques, 3D printing, electronics, building, engineering, painting, drawing, sewing, and fiber arts.

• Design Software: Inkscape (vector design), TinkerCAD (3D modeling)

• Fabrication Tools: Laser cutter, 3D printer, CNC milling

• Art & Design Skills: Drawing, painting, sewing, fiber arts, visual composition, creative problem solving

• Hands-On Skills: Woodworking, engineering & design principles, prototyping, assembly, finishing techniques, surface treatments, print making
